We at NYF are so thankful for your ongoing kindness to help provide mental health support to children and young adults in Nepal. Last year, NYF’s Ankur Counseling Center expanded its services to address the increasing need for mental health support due to the pandemic.
In the last three months of 2020 alone, Ankur counselors conducted (via online) 368 individual counseling sessions and 52 group therapy sessions for children and adolescents. While most participants were youth from our programs, some were from other children’s homes.
Our trained counselors used psychological interventions during these sessions, such as feelings-sharing, expressive art therapy techniques, cognitive behavior techniques, relaxation, and storytelling.
Thank you to Ankur staff members and their ongoing hard work, as well as our generous NYF community for making it all possible!
We’re eager to continue this important work in 2021, and look forward to when our facilities are able to operate at full capacity again. We invite you to be a part of this incredible movement by making a gift today! Eligible gifts up to $50 (per unique donor per organization) made between today and March 12 will be matched at 50% by GlobalGiving!
