Tele-counseling session at Ankur Counseling Center
Tele-counseling session at Ankur Counseling Center

Throughout 2020, Ankur Counseling Center provided an elevated number of services under ever-shifting, stressful conditions imposed by the pandemic. As you may already know, Ankur quickly shifted to online and tele-counseling beginning in March 2020.

A full 40% of the counseling services provided this year pertained to the pandemic. The team has demonstrated NYF’s deep commitment to the children, families, and communities we serve. We are deeply grateful for their dedicated work.

Thanks to support from friends like you, the Ankur team has been able to:

  • Conduct over 1,000 individual counseling sessions for children and adults
  • Hold over 125 group counseling or life skills training sessions
  • Provide telephone-based crisis intervention training to staff members at women’s service centers, who experienced a surge in need as cases of domestic violence spiked during lockdown
  • Produce Nepali-language infographics about self-care, emotional resiliency, and healthy coping tools to be shared online
  • Work with NYF staff members to help strengthen and support team members throughout the pandemic.

Thank you so much for making this all possible!
