By Nepal Youth Foundation | Project Leader
Between July 2020 – June 2021, Ankur Counseling Center conducted a total of 1,951 individual counseling sessions for 230 children and youth. Our dedicated counselors worked with children and youth on a variety of psychological challenges, which included difficult topics like trauma, anxiety, and grief. During these sessions, our counselors helped each child develop the emotional skills and competencies that promote empowerment, healing, appropriate boundaries, positive coping, connection, self-esteem, and resilience. This was done through different interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy, sand-play therapy, expressive art techniques, and creative movement therapy.
Thanks to ongoing support from friends like you, we are also proud to share that Ankur Counseling Center has been able to provide peer-counseling sessions, trainings, and workshops for communities outside of NYF’s programs. Between July 2020 – June 2021, Ankur successfully conducted 29 workshops for over 600 children, teenagers, and members of women’s organizations.
Thank you so much for your generous support!
