Thanks to support from friends like you, Ankur Counseling Center has been able to conduct a few of its own standalone projects in this last year, in addition to their ongoing work.
For example, they completed six workshops for schoolteachers on self-care and recognizing warning signs in children, allowing for child protection, psychological first aid, and suicide prevention. Two sessions were held for government hospital staff and health-focused NGOs on the importance of psychosocial counseling.
Another project is their ongoing work with a Buddhist nunnery to establish a peer counseling program for its school-aged residents, allowing members of this unique community to care for one another from a place of deep mutual understanding. In this program, 15 nuns are learning to be peer counselors to address and respond to psychological first aid, bullying, suicide prevention, and more.
Thank you and dhanyabad for making all of this possible!
