More than 9,559 children have received assistance from our Fund. With the dedication of 26 psychologists, we have conducted 15,842 psychological therapy sessions for the Children of Heroes and their guardians. Additionally, 1,670 children continue to receive ongoing psychological support.
As the war rages on, psychological healing remains one of the most crucial forms of aid we provide. Our children not only endure the trauma of rocket attacks and constant air raids, but many have also suffered the devastating loss of a beloved family member. This profound loss demands long-term psychological therapy for both the children and their surviving relatives.
Meet David.
Before the war, David, his mother, and stepfather enjoyed traveling and exploring Kyiv together as they lived near Kyiv. However, the war changed everything. Forced to hide in the basements of nearby buildings, the family struggled to survive the relentless shelling.
One tragic day, while seeking refuge, David’s stepfather left their home to check on a nearby area but was tragically killed in the attack. This loss left David and his family shattered.
Now living with his grandmother, David has undergone extensive psychological rehabilitation, and his grandmother has received psychiatric support. The family has also received essential items such as a laptop, clothes, shoes, groceries, school supplies, toys, hygiene kits, and even IT training and English lessons. With continued psychological and psychiatric care, David and his family are gradually finding their way back to emotional stability.
Your donations are vital in helping us extend this much-needed support to more families like David’s, allowing them to heal and recover from the harsh realities of war. Together, we can bring hope and healing to those who need it most.
