Celebrating the 34th Graduating Class of P.E.C.E.S

By Azania Silva Gonzalez | Director of Investment in Social Transformation

Dear friends and family,

P.E.C.E.S., Inc. proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class Exelixi 2026 this last Jun, 5, 2026, marking the completion of studies for 65 students and the achievement of an important milestone for the 34th graduating class in the history of our Alternative High School Program.

For more than three decades, P.E.C.E.S. has provided educational opportunities and comprehensive support services to young people facing social, economic, and academic challenges. The graduation of Class Exelixi 2026 reflects the long-term impact of this commitment and the resilience of students who chose to persevere in pursuit of their goals.

For many graduates, earning a high school diploma represents much more than an academic accomplishment. It signifies overcoming barriers, developing confidence, strengthening life skills, and opening doors to higher education, employment, and new opportunities. Through P.E.C.E.S.’ holistic educational model, students receive academic instruction alongside counseling, mentoring, leadership development, workforce readiness training, internship opportunities, and individualized support designed to help them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

During the graduation ceremony, students were recognized for their dedication, growth, and accomplishments throughout the academic year.

Among the highlights:

  • Three graduates received Academic Excellence Awards in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
  • Distinguished Student Awards were presented to students who demonstrated exceptional performance during the first and second academic semesters.
  • The prestigious Sister Nancy Award honored a graduate whose perseverance, leadership, and personal growth exemplify the values of P.E.C.E.S.
  • The Mayor’s Cup Award recognized student achievement and commitment to excellence.
  • Graduates also received special recognitions from district legislators, celebrating their educational accomplishments and determination.

Workforce readiness continues to be a cornerstone of the P.E.C.E.S. model. During the ceremony, partners such as Eaton Corporation and Sayad Title recognized students who completed internship experiences, including a graduate who successfully transitioned from intern to permanent employee. These accomplishments demonstrate how hands-on career opportunities help students build skills, confidence, and pathways to long-term success.

This year’s graduation ceremony was dedicated to the parents and guardians whose love, encouragement, and unwavering support played a vital role in helping students reach this important milestone.

The celebration brought together families, educators, community leaders, nonprofit partners, corporate representatives, government officials, and supporters who have contributed to the success of P.E.C.E.S. students throughout their educational journeys.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of renowned Puerto Rican journalist Normando Valentín, who served as keynote speaker. His inspiring message encouraged graduates to embrace perseverance, maintain hope, and believe in their ability to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.

The graduation of the Class Exelixi 2026 represents more than the awarding of diplomas, it represents the transformation of lives.

As P.E.C.E.S. celebrates its 34th graduating class, we remain committed to creating pathways to success for Puerto Rican youth and strengthening the communities they call home.

We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving donors and supporters whose generosity helps make these success stories possible. Your investment in education continues to create lasting change, empowering young people to transform challenges into opportunities and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Allways grateful for your continuos support!
