To create an inclusive workplace for LGBTQ+ employees, it is essential to foster a LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere within the workplace and increase the number of colleagues committed to making this change together. To address this, we recently held a discussion to explore the necessary activities to establish an equal working environment for LGBTQ+ workers.
Firstly, the results of LGBTQ+ worker focus group discussions were presented, shedding light on their workplace experiences and needs. Subsequently, a panel discussion was conducted to further delve into these matters. The panel featured a labor union activist, a labor law consultant, and an LGBTQ+ human rights advocate, each discussing their roles and responsibilities in the context of labor unions, labor law support organizations, and LGBTQ+ human rights advocacy, respectively. This discussion highlighted various challenges on the path toward creating an equal workplace for all in Korean society. It emphasized that everyone has a role to play from their respective positions and provided valuable insights into the direction of future activities.
