Title: One Cart, One Dream – Empowering Flood-Affected Families in Multan
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation has launched a small business support initiative for flood-affected families in Multan, where devastating floods destroyed homes, cattle, and livelihoods. As part of this program, 50 carts have already been provided to hardworking individuals, enabling them to restart income-generating activities. In the next phase, 100 more carts will be distributed.
Story / Update
Multan faced severe flooding that displaced thousands of families and wiped out their sources of income. Many hardworking men and women lost everything overnight—their homes, cattle, and small businesses. Without immediate livelihood support, survival became a daily struggle.
To restore dignity and self-reliance, Alkhidmat introduced the initiative “One Cart, One Dream”. Through this project, 50 pushcarts were distributed to flood-affected individuals, enabling them to restart small businesses such as selling fruits, vegetables, snacks, and household items.
Each cart is more than just a tool—it represents hope, independence, and the opportunity to rebuild life with dignity. Beneficiaries have already started earning and supporting their families, proving how small investments can create big impacts.
Beneficiaries
Direct Impact: 50 families in Multan in the first phase.
Next Target: 100 more families in the upcoming phase.
Target Group: Flood-affected men and women who lost their income sources and assets.
Impact
Restored livelihoods for flood-hit families.
Reduced dependency on aid by enabling self-employment.
Renewed dignity and hope for individuals struggling after disaster.
Next Steps
Alkhidmat plans to expand this initiative further by providing 100 additional carts, empowering more families to become self-reliant. Our long-term vision is to scale up livelihood programs across flood-affected regions in Pakistan.
