During Ramadan, thousands of vulnerable families across Afghanistan faced the challenge of meeting their basic food needs amid rising living costs and limited household income. For families already struggling to make ends meet, providing daily meals and preparing for Eid placed additional pressure on already stretched resources. In response, Aseel continued its efforts to support communities in all 34 provinces, ensuring that families experiencing hardship could receive assistance during this meaningful month.
With the support of generous donors and partners, Aseel distributed more than 20,000 assistance packages throughout Ramadan. These included freshly prepared iftar meals, essential food supplies, hygiene kits, and Eid gifts for children. More than 18,000 iftar meals were also provided to individuals and families, offering nourishment and a welcoming opportunity to break their fast with dignity.
The initiative prioritized people facing particularly difficult circumstances, including widowed women, orphaned children, elderly caregivers, women and children engaged in street work, low-income households, and individuals living in orphanages, migrant camps, and hospitals. By directing support to these communities, Aseel helped address urgent needs while easing some of the financial and emotional burdens families experienced during Ramadan.
For many recipients, the assistance meant more than access to food and essential supplies. It offered reassurance during a difficult period and helped families observe the holy month with greater comfort and dignity. The distribution of Eid gifts also brought moments of happiness to children, reminding them that they remained part of a wider community that cared about their well-being.
This initiative demonstrated the importance of collective action in responding to humanitarian needs. Through the generosity of donors and partners, essential support reached people whose circumstances often leave them with limited resources and few alternatives. Every contribution helped strengthen a spirit of compassion, solidarity, and hope across communities throughout Afghanistan.
Aseel extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to this Ramadan effort. Your support helped provide meals, essential supplies, and moments of relief to thousands of people during a significant time of the year. As humanitarian and economic challenges continue, Aseel remains committed to working alongside vulnerable communities and connecting those most in need with meaningful assistance. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of families across Afghanistan.
