A Trip to Rajapalayam

By Mathangi Ramprasad | Project Reporter

A journey is best measured in friends than in miles said someone . Though this is true,

Here is what someone else said:

I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.“ Mary Anne Radmacher.

At RASA, we believe in giving people with special needs loads of experiences. Because we believe that experiences teach and help us learn a whole lot more than typical  Reading, Writing and Arithmetic skills.

On 19th of January a group of us from RASA took a group of people with special needs to perform at Rajapalayam , a town in southern India.

With the help of you donors , we could transport the kids safely to the railway station in the van TATA EECO provided by you .

They also got to see various temples like Ariyalur temple. Ariyalur is a picturesque place with lots of monkeys, trees and rocks all around. We also visited a farm and took lots of pictures.

The next day we visited the famous Andal temple .

Our students learnt many things like

1.Managing their clothes, luggage.

2. Keeping their belongings safely, packing and unpacking stuff.

3.Helping their friends in small acts of daily living.

4.Sharing and caring for each other.

5. Perform on a stage that was different from their usual .

Two days later, the entire group of staff and students returned to their families and homes, from the station, in the TATA EECO VAN provided by you donors, richer and wiser having gone through this experience of togetherness and sharing.
