Wildlife Alliance’s Kouprey Express Mobile Environmental Education Unit (KE) spent March 30th and 31st educating 144 students about wildlife habitats and protection. KE gave lessons about forests and wildlife protection to 97 students at Hun Sen Krang Ampil Secondary School and 47 students at Chey Oudong Primary School.  At both schools, over half of the students were girls. As a thank you for the lessons, the Alan Campbell Memorial Library that supports both schools performed a puppet show about pangolins. The library has been working with students and community members to create pangolin themed art and theater. With the support of both KE and the local library, these students will have the opportunity to learn more about wildlife and the environment that is greatly needed in Cambodia.

In the month of March alone, KE educated 326 students about wildlife and the importance of protecting it. The unit also conducted Teacher Training Workshops for a total of 60 teachers and community forestry members who are now all empowered to teach others about conservation issues. KE also raised awareness about the importance of stopping wildlife consumption, protecting natural habitats and better waste management in around 600 community members through 2 Community Night Shows.

Thank you for helping the Kouprey Express create lasting change in Cambodia by educating and inspiring the next generation! Your gift is making a difference in improving attitudes about forests and wildlife conservation in Asia.
