Thank you! The Newer 4x4 Truck is Funded!

By Evelind Schecter | Program Leader, Co-Founder

We are delighted to let you know that we have fully funded this project to replace our aging truck.  We have identified a reliable truck dealer and will put in a request to let us know when an appropriate vehicle becomes available.

Our current Ford is still running, but the paint is peeling again. (It has been repainted at least once.)  The gears are making odd noises, but our mechanic says it is ok to drive until it stops.

A new truck means security and connection. It ensures that no matter the season, we can deliver food and supplies, bring children to medical care, and stay in close contact with the families who depend on us most.

We will miss the Ford, but will be relieved to drive it without worrying the whole time.  Our Thai staff call our vehicles by their brand names - easier to bridge the translation gap, and we do not have to argue about the color.

Our Suzuki sedan has had a few lives, but it is still running.  Originally, it was a blue/green, and it depended on the beholder to decide whether it was blue or green.  We solved this problem when the doors and windows stopped working, but the engine had been replaced, so the core structure was fine.  Our mechanic had another vehicle in his shop, in poor mechanical shape, and suggested replacing the whole outside of the car.  So now it is maroon, but still the Suzuki.

We will keep you posted on what we purchase as the replacement for the Ford.

Many thanks for your generosity in making this happen.

Best wishes for the holidays and the New Year ahead.

Dana, Michael, Evelind, and the Warm Heart Family.
