Happy Spring!
Time has flown by since our last update, and we are quickly approaching another monsoon season. Because the majority of our work takes place outdoors, and for the safety of our staff and volunteers, we have to take a short break until the season passes. Our teams are set to wrap up their current projects at the end of May, and get right back to work at the end of the summer!
Our teams have kept very busy since our last update, working hard to finish up several school sites in the Sindhuli District. The Ma Vi Secondary School, where our Female Mason trainees are currently working, is set to be completed in the first week of May. The Saraswati Basic School is set to be completed at the end of April! We are always so excited to see this work as it approaches the finish line because it means so many children will soon be able to return to safe, comfortable, and enriching environments. Upon completion of these two schools alone, 385 students will be able to enjoy their new space.
We are also so excited to say that the third session of our Female Masons Training program is set to successfully wrap up at the end of May! This third “round” of the program is helping provide four Nepali women with the training they need to acquire certifications (which will allow them to work for fair wages within their community long after All Hands and Hearts has left Nepal). It has been such a pleasure working with the trainees, and sharing a variety of knowledge with them! Every Tuesday and Thursday evening english lessons are held for the Female Masons, and once a week our volunteers and staff are given conversational Nepali lessons. We are excited to continue this life-changing program in the fall!
Thank you for continuing to support the work our teams are doing in Nepal...I look forward to updating you again in a few months!
