1st Quarter 2025 Report

By Lucia Paz | Internship Student

In the first quarter of 2025, Mensajeros de la Paz Comunidad Valenciana has strengthened its commitment to supporting those affected by DANA, advancing into the second phase of intervention. This stage focuses on restoring the well-being of affected families through actions that go beyond immediate emergency response and aim to rebuild daily life within their homes.

Key areas of action include the donation of basic goods, furniture and household appliances, housing repairs, and the implementation of preventive accommodation measures in cases of structural risk. Our objective is to restore the dignity of the affected families, ensure their safety and emotional stability, and lay the groundwork for a gradual return to normality.

During the first months of the year, we delivered 7,176 hot meals to individuals in extreme vulnerability, many of whom had no access to functional kitchens or were still living in uninhabitable homes. This assistance was made possible entirely through donations, as was the distribution of 43 pallets of fruits and vegetables.

In addition, we have also been able to support 626 people through the donation of mattresses, appliances, household goods, and basic furniture, as well as through small home repairs and providing emergency accommodation to mitigate structural risks.

Furthermore, and thanks to different donations we continued to work on the rehabilitation of the Algemesí Senior Day Center, which specializes in caring for people with Alzheimer's disease.

We would like to extend a special thank you to GlobalGiving for their generous donation, which will play a crucial role in allowing us to continue supporting affected families. Thanks to your solidarity, we can maintain essential programs such as the distribution of food, the provision of basic necessities, and the rehabilitation of damaged homes. Your support will help us build long-term resilience within the communities most impacted by the DANA.

We remain committed to standing alongside those who need us most. We are deeply grateful to all our donors and partners whose generosity makes our work possible.
