The key success stories

Huguette

Before attending trauma healing workshop, I was opposing the idea related to savings and credit because the future was not a consideration to me.

Whenever I got money, I had to consume it and finish it. My husband and I were living on a day basis. Tomorrow’s life was not a preoccupation for us. This was due to the many people we lost in our families during the massive violence’s happened in Burundi.

Today, I’m glad that I feel reintegrated in my community and I understand that future exists and I have to prepare for it in working hard to afford it and contribute for our children education, health and other daily needs.

The nonviolent conflict management understanding and tools is an added value on what we have leant so far.

Olive

I lost my mother when I was in my third year of primary school. Then, my father took me out of school to take care of a newborn baby that my mother left. Soon, my father married another woman who left a newborn with me after the death of my father. So, I took care of two infants and it was not easy. But as I love children, I gave myself for them. Later, I got married and gave birth to a firstborn who passed away. Then, I gave birth to the second one who passed away too. I then waited five long years without being able to conceive again. And, I seriously felt bad. After, God gave me 4 children but until now I cannot stop remembering the first two children I lost.

This workshop come to teach me about my psychological situation, its consequences and the way to manage them
