Recovery Camps for Ukraine's Children

The Children of Heroes Charity Fund continues its mission of providing psychological support to children affected by the war. The fourth round of our “I am Da Vinci” Psychological Rehabilitation Camp took place in the beautiful protected area of the Carpathians, where 60 children received much-needed psychological care, emotional healing, and meaningful social interactions.

A Safe and Supportive Environment

• Located in a secure, reserved area of the Transcarpathian region, the camp provided children with:
• A large, closed territory with 24/7 security
• Comfortable 3-person rooms
• Four healthy meals daily
• A gadget-free environment to encourage real-world engagement
• Continuous medical supervision

Psychological Support and Healing

The camp’s structured program was designed to help children process trauma, rebuild self-confidence, and develop emotional resilience. Through a combination of:

• Group therapy under the “Children and Grief” program
• Art therapy for self-expression and emotional release
• Cinema therapy to facilitate discussions on emotions and coping
• Individual psychological sessions tailored to each child’s needs
• Educational lectures on important topics, including sexual education

Proven Impact

• A final psychological assessment of camp participants revealed that:
• 70% of children experienced reduced anxiety and stress
• Increased self-confidence and emotional self-regulation
• In-person interaction allowed psychologists to better understand each child's psychological needs
• Each child received personalized recommendations for ongoing psychological support
