Thousands of Nigerians live with life-changing amputations caused by terror attacks, leaving many unable to work or care for their families. With little or no access to mobility aids, healthcare, or rehabilitation, daily survival becomes a struggle. This project will provide 500 amputees with prosthetics, crutches, physiotherapy, counseling, and small business training to help them regain independence, restore dignity, and reduce extreme suffering.
Terror attacks in Nigeria have left hundreds of survivors permanently disabled. Over 500 amputees face extreme poverty, isolation, and health risks due to lack of medical care. Many cannot return to work or school, and families bear the heavy burden of caregiving. Without artificial limbs, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation, survivors are forced into lifelong dependency. Limited government resources and absence of affordable prosthetics make recovery almost impossible for these victims.
This project will provide amputees with artificial limbs, walking aids, physiotherapy, and counseling. Local health workers and rehabilitation centers will be engaged to fit and train survivors on limb use. Survivors will gain mobility, access to vocational training, and support to return to work or school. By supplying prosthetics and rehabilitation, the project reduces dependence on family members and allows survivors to rebuild daily life with restored mobility and independence.
With restored mobility and rehabilitation, amputees can return to productive lives, care for their families, and regain dignity. Survivors with prosthetic limbs are more likely to work, pursue education, or start small businesses. Families relieved from caregiving burdens will have better economic stability. In the long run, this project will reduce poverty among affected households, promote social inclusion, and create opportunities for amputees to live independently with renewed hope.
