By Yinka Amusat | Intern
Hi, my name is Yinka and I have recently graduated from studying law. I chose to work for Be Enriched because I've always had an interest in the non-profit sector and wanted to expand my skills in other areas outside of the law and work for an organisation that understands and empathises with the struggles of people in their community.
Working as a Communications intern at Be Enriched has been a very rewarding experience. Through having the opportunity to be on the front line of helping people from low socio-economic areas, speaking and connecting with these people has been extremely insightful and humbling.
Additionally, I've had the chance to embark on developing new skills and try tasks that I've never done before. This has allowed me to gain more invaluable experience in marketing, working on food partnerships and social media strategy. Every day is different, some days we are in the office, other days on the food bus or helping in Brixton's people's kitchen. Every day also presents new challenges but because of the support network from the team, we have been able to overcome and find opportunities through obstacles.
During this internship, I hope to continue to learn more indispensable skills that I can use in pursuit of whichever avenue I decide to venture.
