New Hong Kong Consumer Survey

We recently comissioned our first ever Hong Kong consumer survey, which set out to find out more about the way Hongkongers' clothing consumption habits.  Our survey found that almost one in three Hong Kong consumers discard their unwanted clothing in the bin, and further revealed that almost one-third of clothes in Hong Kong wardrobes are never or rarely worn.

See what else our survey found on our website.

Get Redressed Month in Full Swing

Our annual consumer campaign to encourage Hongkongers to keep their clothing in use for longer launched at the start of October. Although we have had to make some changes this year due to the global pandemic, we are really encouraged by the support we have received so far.  To date, we have over 70 comapnies and schools taking part in the campaign and have managed to secure over 50 public locations where the general public can drop off their unwanted clothes for us to resell, reuse and recycle.  We have also launched a competition searching for some of the oldest and most treasured items in the region's wardrobes.

Find out how you can participate here.

Past and Future Public Events

As part of Get Redressed Month the Circular Fashion Programme ran it's first virtual panel event 'Fashion, Sustainability and COVID - The HK Outlook'.  We had over 70 attendees from across the world, and the recently released survey results made for interesting discussion matter.  Take a look at the visual we created during the event for a general overview of the points discussed.

We are also running two virtual denim upcycling workshops as part of Get Redressed Month, register to take part and watch past event recordings here.

Thank You!

As always, we want to thank you for continued support through these difficult times. We are learning to adapt whilst the world changes and continue to find new ways we can encourage behaviour change and keep clothing in use for longer.
