Training Internally Displaced Persons, Refugees and host Communities in clean Cooking Energy
Our Charcoal project is progressing and making impact in the communities especially in the lives of Internally Displaced Persons, refugees and the host communities. We are conscious about the challenges faced by vulnerable groups in finding alternatives to cooking. In many places the traditional firewood is no longer the appropriate option and is linked to many security risks of women and girls who are victims of rape and other forms of sexual abuses.
We continue looking for resources to boost this environment friendly charcoal production which provides better cooking alternatives to women and protect them from risks. This project helps people to find cooking items in the very areas where they live and affordable.
On top of the Charcoal we are also introducing a Clean Cooking Stove which can help them to reduce charcoal consumption and which in environment friendly. We also as we said before promoting the culture of planting trees in communities where people live, and our aim is to see all Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees Camps becoming Green and have trees in each single free space.
