Sharon is 36 years old. Sharon has spent the last few weeks attending the I Live Again Uganda Empower Trauma Counseling Program in the refugee settlement. Sharon is South Sudanese and has come to Uganda due to war. She lives in one of the many refugee settlements in Uganda.
"I witnessed my husband being killed alongside others in our village. I cried and yelled trying to tell them to stop. I cried and yelled so much that I lost my voice. The pain of losing him was too much. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I walked to Uganda feeling so broken. I have had so many sleepless nights thinking of my husband and all that I have lost."
After attending the Trauma Counseling Program Sharon now tells us,
"I finally realize that there are people who care about the sufferings of refugees. All of you at I Live Again Uganda have been so caring and kind. You spoke words of hope and healing. You have given me the confidence to keep living. I am peaceful now and able to sleep well at night. My mind is no longer focused on the losses of my past. I have enjoyed and needed this program so much."
Sharon's life has been changed because of your giving.
Thank you for your continued support of the programs we are providing for refugees in Uganda!
