Dear friends,
In a remote village of in Bichhya, Bajura District, 17-year-old Anjana Shahi ( name changed) was born completely blind. Her family’s situation is very difficult—her mother has already passed away, her father has a hearing disability, and among her four siblings, most are also visually impaired.
Despite her blindness, Anjana has learned to move around her village confidently. Since childhood, she has memorized the paths and surroundings, allowing her to walk short distances independently. But poverty and lack of access to services left her family uncertain about her future.
PHASE Nepal, supported Anjana with a small livelihood initiative. About five months ago, , she received four goats to start goat farming. This support has given her family hope. Once the goats breed and multiply, Anjana will be able to sell them in the local market, helping to meet some of the family’s basic needs.
“For the first time, I feel like I can also contribute to my family’s life,” Anjana shared with a hopeful smile.
Her story shows how even small support can bring meaningful change for children and families living with disability in remote areas. With your continued support, PHASE Nepal can reach more young people like Anjana—helping them gain dignity, confidence, and a brighter future.
Thank you,
PHASE Nepal Team.
