Cancer survivors across Ghana face numerous challenges after treatment, including physical disabilities, emotional trauma, and economic hardship. Adjah Cancer Support Ghana is establishing a national Rehabilitation Center to offer survivors holistic post-treatment care. This facility will include physical therapy, vocational training, psychological counseling, and nutrition guidance to help them rebuild their lives.
In Ghana, cancer survivors often face significant barriers to recovery due to a lack of post-treatment care. Many live with chronic pain, reduced mobility, and psychological distress, and have limited access to services that could help them regain their independence. This gap in care disproportionately affects low-income survivors, who often struggle with unemployment and social reintegration.
The Rehabilitation Center will provide nationwide support by offering: Physical Therapy: To improve strength and mobility. Vocational Training: Equipping survivors with marketable skills. Psychological Counseling: Addressing emotional and mental health needs. Nutrition Counseling: Promoting healthy, sustainable dietary practices. The center will serve as a hub for empowerment and recovery, ensuring survivors from across Ghana receive the resources and support they need.
This initiative will create a sustainable model for survivor rehabilitation, impacting hundreds of individuals annually. By addressing physical, mental, and economic challenges, the center will help survivors reintegrate into society and lead productive lives. The project will also raise awareness about survivorship, fostering a culture of inclusion and support nationwide.
