16 Days of Activism Against Violence

A 16 Days of Activism against Female Violence and Gender Discrimination was organized by the RSKS organization to prevent female violence and gender discrimination. On this occasion, various types of awareness campaigns were organized by the organization. A 16-day awareness program was organized by the organization in this series. Awareness programs like awareness rally, rights of laado, selfie, rangoli, poster competition, newborn girl honor etc. were organized to make people aware of gender discrimination, sexual harassment, female violence, child marriage etc.

Awareness rally was organized in the village with the active participation of the Yuva Sathi Club formed by the RSKS organization to end female violence and gender discrimination. The contribution of young girls in this program was significant, who roamed the village and took out a rally with awareness slogans and gave a concrete message to the community. In another awareness activity, the organization along with the young girls of Yuva Saathi Club honored the newborn girl and her parents in the village. Going from house to house, playing garland and clapping, honored the newborn girl and her parents and planted a tree in the courtyard of the house.

The organization also organized a poster and rangoli competition celebrating 16 days of activism against female violence with great enthusiasm. In this, the girls of the village participated enthusiastically in the awareness painting and made a rangoli. The village girl and her parents supported the program by tying ribbons in their hands. Public participation in all these programs was significant and they all became aware. All the villagers appreciated the program and thanked the RSKS organization for organizing this event.

Make a Wish: Street Kids Celebrated X-MAS

We always find some poor children near road or streets colleting garbage or begging. These children work to have food for the night. Their childhood gets spend in all this. These children spend their life in tore, used or very old dresses. Their family does not have money to spend on new dress. Nutritious food is only like a dream for these children. They do not celebrate any festivals. These children struggle to get two times food in a day when all the children from city are enjoying nutritious and tasty food along with new dresses.

RSKS India took steps toward bringing happiness in their life at the time of festivals. RSKS India gave gift of happiness to these children on the occasion of happiness day known as Christmas Day. This year the festival of happiness brought happiness to these children also. RSKS India organized celebration in seven street/slum areas and gave new dresses to approx 175 street/slum children. Indo western dresses, Kurta Pyjama, Sherwani, Lehnga chunni, Salwar suit etc were given to 300 children by RSKS India. Along with this biscuits, pastries, sweets etc were also distributed to these children.

Excitement in the eyes of street/slum children was easily seen during the distribution program. These children started dancing and singing and felt immense pleasure and joy by wearing the new dresses. These children also felt like they are same as the children living in the cities because on this happiness festival they are also having new dresses to wear. On the occasion of Christmas day all the children fed sweets to each other and wished Happy Christmas Day to RSKS India team members and all the donors. After this they started dancing and told RSKS team members that they never had wore new dresses and this is the first time they are feeling the happiness of wearing a new dress. Wearing new dress was a dream of these children which became true only because of RSKS India and donors. Parents of these children were grateful of RSKS India and thanked the RSKS team wholeheartedly.

We Celebrate ABILITIES !!

Warm Greetings from RSKS India Family ......

Disabled people are one part of our society and their involvement in the society is also important but they are not getting their rights in the society till now. RSKS is operating a program for the benefit of disabled people in which work is done for their education, empowerment, health, employment, social security and along with this awareness is spread for their rights.

In this context, RSKS India organized and celebrated disability day and the theme was “We Celebrate Abilities”. On the occasion of disability day- 3rd December, a program was organized in the village Makreda in front of disabled and the community people and in this program many types of competitions were organized. All the disabled people gathered all together and cut the cake and fed each other. After this some disabled people shared their success story with everyone and this encouraged and inspired other disabled people.

RSKS organized fun activities/competitions for the disabled people in which they participated excitingly. Spoon race, frog race, Jalebi race, poster competition, rangoli competition etc were some of the activities/competitions. In this optimistic environment it was seen that their disability is just a word as their passion and happiness was hiding their disability totally and gave them new energy. Prizes were given to all the disabled people who participated in these activities/ competitions. This program was an example of community inclusion in which disabled people were involved along with other community people. Head of the village and other village officials appreciated this community inclusion program and thanked RSKS for organizing this program in their village.
