A Story of The Power of Humanity.....

By Deepak Sharma | CEO

Respected Donor !

RSKS INDIA is working for ''May All Live Happily'' and is always taking new steps for that.  From time to time we see the impact stories from ground by our feedback forms.one of these IMPACT story is shared in this report.

An IMPACT Story of Slum Dweller Guddi.......

People know me as Shanta (Name Changed) but my real name is Guddi. Here at my slum everyone knows me by the name of Shanta. I am 37 years old now and I live with my husband and 5 children I a small hut in a slum which is nearby the city. My husband goes out to sell spices or sometimes to work as a daily wages labour and I work behind as a household wife. I am unable to educate my children so my children are busy roaming here and there all day long. The covid-19 pandemic was the worst thing we could ever imagine as even after the lockdown, the people living in the slums were ignored as many people thought that we would spread the covid-19 disease and we were also scared of the diseases as we even do not have much money to go into a best hospital. We even didn’t had the money to feed my children 2 times meal as after the lockdown and during the lockdown my husband was unable to do anything.

We had a sigh of hope when some people from a local NGO named Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan visited our slum area to identify the people who are facing many problems regarding their basic daily meal. Our slum leader took my name at first to the RSKS team member and then they visited my hut as they were doing door to door baseline survey. After this they came back again with the ration/grocery kit and then their was a huge smile on my face and also on the face of other people who were going to get the ration/grocery kit. The ration and grocery kit was distributed to us under the banner of Covid-19 Humanitarian Relief and this was surely a relief for us. We were all told to sit while following the social distancing and other covid-19 precaution rules. Then the RSKS team members came back to take feedback from me about the whole program which I was amazed to tell as it is not a common thing to see now a days.

Through this distribution program of RSKS India, my family’s 7 to 8 weeks of two times meal was secured as the ration kit was around 25 kg heavy and contained all the necessary items like the turmeric powder, salt, flour, rice, Lentils, sugar, coriander powder, eatable oil etc. When I came back at home while taking all this material then my children also started dancing and there was a huge smile on my husband’s face as he also never thought that we would be getting this kind of support from anyone we even do not know. However then he also said that the name of the project was very much suitable as this kind of support is a true reflection of humanitarian. Me and my husband thank the whole RSKS Team and the people who donating to this organization as they have made many people like me smile and have secured the ration/grocery needs of the family. My husband has started to find new work to do without worrying about our  times meal.

Once again thank you so much for your valuable Support.
