Dignity Restored: Laila's Journey...

I am Laila (Name Changed), a 21 - year - old orphan from a small village. Life has never been easy for me, and every day feels like a struggle. But amidst all the hardships, there was a ray of hope when I found out that my marriage was fixed on a date. I was excited and nervous at the same time. However, I soon realized that I had no one who could give me any marriage basic items of daily use. My heart sank, and I felt hopeless. But then something miraculous happened. A team from RSKS India under the Humanity project came to our village to do a door-to-door baseline survey. I told them about my situation, and they listened with empathy. They assured me that they would do whatever they could to help me.
 
A few days later, they provided me with all the necessary things for my marriage. They gave me a fan to keep me cool during the hot summer days, a sewing machine to help me earn a living, silver anklets to adorn my feet, and a beautiful bridal dress to wear on my wedding day and many more things like utensils, lipstick, bangles etc. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and couldn't thank them enough. I wasn't the only one who received help from RSKS India. They helped many other people like me too. Their kindness and generosity touched the hearts of everyone in our village.

Thanks to RSKS India, I was able to get married with dignity and grace. I felt like a princess on my wedding day, and it was all thanks to the support that they provided me. My community members and I will always be grateful to RSKS India for their kind support. Looking back, I realize that my life has been a series of struggles, but I have learned to never lose hope. I am determined to make the most of what life has to offer, and with the help of organizations like RSKS India, I know that I can overcome any obstacle that comes my way. I am confident that with their continued support, I can build a better future for myself and my community.
