Fruit trees in Brazil continue to grow

A young schoolyard orchard in Mococa, Brazil

Ola friends,

Thousands of fruit trees planted in the town of Mococa, Brazil continue to grow in backyards, schoolyards, and along city streets. Together with our local partners, we have seen what were once barren lands devoid of shade and wildlife grow into bustling orchards filled with fruit, birds, and pollinators and that are producing thousands of pounds of fruit each year.

Children and students are picking Jaboticaba and Graviola from their school's orchard to eat during snack time.

Families are sharing fresh Cherimoya with their neighbors and family members to improve community nutrition.

Farmers are selling Acai, Pitanga, Uvaia, and other region-specific varieties to local markets to earn additional income and support their livelihoods.

All while the trees also provide shade, oxygen, and a cleaner and cooler environment for a region increasingly impacted by a rapidly warming climate.

This is the beauty of fruit trees -- they answer so many challenges in one simple, beautiful way -- and why we need to keep planting orchards in Brazil.

However, to continue doing this important work, we need to raise the funds. So please, if you believe in the power of fruit trees to impact the health and well-being of Brazilian communities and environments, consider donating today.
