Thousands of Nigerian migrant workers are stranded in active war zones such as Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, and Russia. Many face forced labor, sexual exploitation, and violence with no means of escape. Reports show more than 2,000 Nigerians remain trapped in Ukraine alone, with hundreds scattered across other conflict zones. This project will fund urgent rescue, evacuation, temporary shelter, and reintegration programs, giving stranded migrants a safe pathway home.
Nigerian migrant workers in war-torn regions face daily threats of violence, sexual exploitation, and forced labor. Many left home seeking work but are now trapped without legal protection or safe passage. In Ukraine alone, more than 2,000 Nigerians remain stranded since the conflict began, while in Libya, migrants continue to be trafficked or detained in harsh conditions. Families back home often lose contact, leaving victims isolated and abandoned.
The project will organize rescue operations, secure safe transport routes, and arrange flights or cross-border transfers to Nigeria. Rescued migrants will receive immediate food, shelter, and medical care. Survivors of sexual violence will be connected to trauma counseling and rehabilitation services. Reintegration support, including vocational training and family reunification, will help returnees rebuild their lives.Partnerships with international networks will strengthen safe evacuation.
Beyond saving lives in the short term, this project will reduce vulnerability to exploitation and trafficking for hundreds of Nigerian workers trapped in conflict zones.Survivors who are safely reintegrated will have the chance to rebuild stable livelihoods, reducing repeated cycles of unsafe migration.Public awareness created through the project will push for stronger migration policies and protection systems. Each life saved contributes to safer futures for families & communities across Nigeria
