Sunita's childhood was filled with pain and heartache. The trauma she faced at a young age followed her into her teenage years, and at 17, she made the brave decision to leave it all behind and seek a new life, but she was doing it on her own. Without help, what awaited her was the harsh reality of poverty and despair.
Sunita found herself struggling to even survive day-to-day, with hunger pangs gnawing at her and nowhere to turn for help. It was a bleak situation, and she was heading back to the life of exploitation she wanted so desperately to leave behind. Then you stepped in and gave her a way out!
The reality of the sex trade in India is that many are lure and then trapped in the lifestyle because they are convinced they have no education, no support system, no other option but to continue a life of exploitation. But before Sunita could return to the red-light districts, knowing the abuse and punishment she would endure, you gave her the safety, rescue, and care she desperately needed to give her a sustainable life outside of sex work.
You have been so crucial in Sunita's freedom! Because of your generosity, Sunita was able to get an education, counseling, and learn a new vocation so she could succeed in life. You empowered Sunita and many others like her to leave the sex trade and never turn back.
Because of you, Sunita is now able to leave the red-light districts and begin a new chapter of her life, with hope and possibility on the horizon.
