Quarter 3 Data report

By Breanna Tivvis | Director of Foundation & Corporate Relations

The Yoga 4 Change Research Team, Dr. Danielle Rousseau and Dr. Jennifer W. Bourgeois, consistently evaluate quantitative and qualitative data collected at every Yoga 4 Change class.  Each quarter they analyze and evaluate specific data to focus on the impact yoga has on a specific population.  Quarter three's impact report is focused on data collected from the individuals we serve who are involved with the jusitce system.  This includes individuals involved in the 4th Judicial Court System in Duval County, all three facilities managed by the Jacksonille Sheriff's Officer, Seminole County Corrections and Orange County Corrections.

The report shares Yoga 4 Change's key findings for the period from July 12023, to September 30, 2023. The data below indicate the average change for individuals’ self-ratings of stress, mood, and pain for adults. Outcomes compare ratings prior to class to ratings after class participation.

Pre/Post Class

For incarcerated individuals, there was a significant increase in mood (p  < .001), a significant decrease in stress (p < .001), and a significant decrease in pain (p < .001).

Adult Population Scale

Stress  - 30% decrease
