Liberia has confirmed COVID-19 within its borders. On May 22, 2020, the President of Liberia announced a two-week extension of restrictions intended to halt the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The State of Emergency (SOE) includes travel restrictions for all Liberian counties.
Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia's Waterfield Primary Healthcare Center in Margibi County is open for business after a brief government shutdown due to the coronavirus. All patients are being screened prior to admission to the clinic and our Community Health Workers are educating residents in the 37 villages we serve regarding steps to prevent spread of the virus. We're also actively involved in making and distributing masks.
Personal Protection Equipment acquired during the Ebola crisis is being put to good use to protect our clinic staff from virus spread (see photo).
