HWHL is please to share with you some exciting new updates:
In the month of July, Waterfield Primary Health Care Center (WPHCC) Community Health Workers visited 32 communities in Margibi County reaching 1,077 individuals. During these health education sessions, Community Health Workers discussed malaria, typhoid fever, liver health, hypertension, as well as breast cancer awareness.
On July 26th WPHCC staff opened our children’s playground area. During the opening ceremony, 100 children from the Madina community along with their relatives enjoyed music, games and snacks. Reading books, donated by the Green family who visited in July, crayons and pencils were distributed to all the children.
We are honored to announce that on Thursday, August 10, 2017, Dr. Chris Hena, HWHL’s Medical Director, received the International Inspiration in Faith and Health award during the Methodist Healthcare Living Awards Benefit event. Please check out the link below for more information about the award Dr. Chris received:

We are also very pleased to report that our shipping company in Greensboro, NC has confirmed shipment of our laboratory pallet. They expect that it will arrive in Monrovia, completely cleared through Liberian Customs and be ready for pick-up in Monrovia on Monday, October 16th. Once the lab equipment has been installed, HWHL will have met the requirements established by the Margibi County Health Team and will finally be able to see patients in the WHPCC. Praise God!
With the laboratory shipment on its way, HWHL board and staff are strategically planning to recruit, hire and train staff for the WHPCC.
As always, we thank you for your continued financial support and prayers as we continue to focus on our mission of HWHL to promote the health of the people and educate patients through Comprehensive, Sustainable, Community-Based Primary Healthcare.
