Final Report: Reposting for for the Project Completion Process

With your continued support, Wellkind Guatemala has been able to advance our reforestation and conservation work around Lake Atitlán and beyond. In recent months we completed the installation of an additional food forest, bringing the total to four. These sites are already producing nutritious harvests for local families while demonstrating how agroecology can restore soil health and ensure long-term food security.
Our native tree nursery is thriving, with more than 2,000 seedlings under cultivation for upcoming community planting days. Each species has been carefully chosen for its cultural significance and ecological value, ensuring that reforestation strengthens both biodiversity and traditional livelihoods. These trees will be planted in partnership with families and community brigades to safeguard springs, stabilize hillsides, and increase climate resilience.
Looking ahead, our team is preparing to broaden our reach into priority zones such as Chichicastenango in Quiché and Nahualá in Sololá. These areas are under increasing pressure from deforestation and erosion, and local leaders have expressed strong interest in collaborating on restoration and sustainable land management.
We are proud to share that, thanks to this collective effort, over 30,000 native trees have already been distributed this season across Quiché, Nahualá, and the upper Lake Atitlán watershed. This achievement underscores the scale of our impact and the dedication of the farmers and families who are at the heart of this movement.
We remain deeply grateful for your solidarity and support, which continues to make this important work possible.
