By Andrew Mullens | Kimbilio Support
Thank you for your financial support for the Kimbilio project to reunite street children with their wider families. The best outcome for street children is to be returned to the love of their families and in the last quarter the Kimbilio carers have been successful in returning seven boys and five girls to their families.
It is particularly dangerous for girls to live on the streets, and Fatu (above) had been rescued from the streets by Kimbilio and she lived on one of our houses in Lubumbashi for two years while efforts were made to locate her family and to negotiate for her reintegration. I am pleased to report that contact was made with Fatu's family in Fungarume, a town 200 kilometers north-west of Lubumbashi, and she has now been reunited with them.
