We are thrilled to share that Marie is back home with her family! After spending time on the streets and finding safety at Kimbilio’s transit house for girls, our reintegration team conducted months of mediation and family visits. Thanks to these efforts, Marie has successfully reunited with her biological family and moved in with her grandmother in Lubumbashi.
Before returning home, Marie completed our "Coupe et Couture" sewing program, equipping her with practical, income-generating skills to help support her household. Though her new home is further away, she still plans to stay connected by singing in our transit girls' choir at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral!
Reuniting a child with their family requires dedicated time, transport for site visits, and patient mediation. The funds you donate to this GlobalGiving project directly support our social work team, enabling us to keep rebuilding family bonds and bringing street-connected children back home.
