Happy New Year!

By Eva Walters | Fundraising Manager

Sending lots of gratitude to all for the support given around the Year End Campaign and Giving Tuesday.

In light of the current political situation we greatly appreciate your gifts. The DR Congo presidency issues are still unresolved with no solution in sight:

This has impacted on the levels of unrest in the general population making it very unsafe for any child who calls the street their home. Kimbilio's Day Centre and other outreach is invaluable at the moment. Never more has the name of Kimbilio (Swahili for "safe place") meant so much as during these times of insecurity on the streets.

The prices of staple food supplies are also increasing with the tensions. This brings two challenges for the staff at Kimbilio, in providing food for those on site and also flour for the reintegration package that families are given.

So with all this in mind, thank you again. Your generosity really does make a difference in the lives of the children you support. Happy New Year from all of us at Congo Children Trust and Kimbilio!

If you have any questions about Kimbilio or how you might support us further then please don't hesitate to contact eva@kimbiliocongo.org
