Since the Lambi Fund has existed, it has always supported Women's Organizations throughout Haiti. In this sense, the Lambi Fund trainers guide women on “gender equity” and in project management to help them manage their activities to generate revenue for their families.
Women are supported by Lambi for specific project requests from the women's organizations (trade, commodity processing, storage, planting) or from Lambi's emergency response to a natural disaster.
Report 1
Currently under a program that began in late December 2021 in the Southern department of the country, the Lambi Regional Monitor continues to accompany 126 women from 6 local organizations who each received a grant of 315,000 gourdes to conduct a microcredit / trade project. Lambi Fund provided training to thses women to ensure a successful project. The local organizations asked the recipient members to reimburse part of the monthly fee for 6 months. With these reimbursements, the organizations brings in 5-7 new women into the project each month. From December to March 2022, this program, which began with 126 women, now has 246 women. Women sell food, cosmetics, clothing and sandals. The small profits they make on sales of these products allow them to reimburse the organizations correctly and to set aside some amounts for their own families.
According to the testimonies of the women who have benefited from these projects, they have many advantages:
• Small amounts of money will be provided to support the household (food, school supplies, doctor care, etc.)
• Women who are members of the Organization represent a role model for all other women in their communities
