Awareness is Key!

Diversity is our Strength!
Diversity is our Strength!

Dear Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers and supporters,

Thanks to your generous donations we were able to offer needed physical, psychological and social empowering services to our beneficiaries. Starting from providing tutorials on how to become physically independent to peer counseling sessions that foster healthy attitude towards one’s challenge and finally to helping couples achieve their dreams of having a baby! Today is Brain Injury Awareness Day. Brain injury is one of many reasons that lead to permanently using a wheelchair, in fact, around 5% of our beneficiaries have brain injuries. On our different platforms we’re trying to raise awareness about different reasons and injuries that could lead to using a wheelchair. Our latest awareness campaign focused on kids since many kids and parents suffer from insensitive questions and looks from strangers and that greatly hurt their feelings.

On another note, we’d like to share with you our latest team meeting. Our team members come from different backgrounds with different skill sets and that’s what makes us capable of successfully running this organization. Diversity is our strength! Seeing how diverse our team is, makes people change how they view the Differently Abled people.

In Egypt, we have a negative and false idea about how Differently Abled people look and dress. We’re trying hard to break that stereotype through showcasing our home. Yes, we treat Alhassan Foundation as our home and we treat each other as family members. Publishing these pictures has two goals:

1-     Changing how people see the differently abled and accept their individuality.

2-     Changing how the differently abled see themselves and empowering them.

We would like to thank every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and staying loyal donors to our cause through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation option. That will help wheelchair users in Egypt be more confident and accomplished. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:

Thank you for believing in the differently abled. :)
