Dear Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers and supporters,

Thanks to your generous donations we were able to offer needed physical, psychological and social empowering services to our beneficiaries. Starting from providing tutorials on how to become physically independent to peer counseling sessions that foster healthy attitude towards one’s challenge and finally to helping couples achieve their dreams of having a baby! One of the most difficult tasks facing us at AlHassan Foundation is to rehabilitate the newly injured psychologically. From my personal experience as a wheelchair user, it is very difficult to accept psychological rehabilitation from abled people as they didn't go through the same emotional experience.

You keep convincing yourself that they can’t understand your suffering and the difficulties and challenges that you're facing on a daily basis as a wheelchair user.

Since we at AlHassan Foundation know very well these challenges and their negative impact on all wheelchair users in Egypt.

We know very well that there are hidden potential inside every wheelchair user waiting for anyone to encourage them to let it out.

Asmaa is a prime example of this hidden potential, she was paralyzed as a result of a traumatic accident in 2004 and became a permanent wheelchair user.

Since this accident, she has completely dropped out of school and put all her dreams on hold, After joining AlHassan Foundation and being encouraged by the FDN team and learning that there are many models in AlHassan Foundation they were able to achieve goals that some might think were almost impossible for a wheelchair user.

Asmaa decided to complete her education after 15 years, with the support of AlHassan Foundation’s project, “Rise Up” project scholarships, she was able to attend Al-Alsun College with a fully funded scholarship from AlHassan Foundation.

We wish Asmaa success and excellence always.

The Foundation's team was able to implement more than 80 psychological rehabilitation sessions for wheelers in different age groups; we believe that psychological rehabilitation is the first step in placing the wheelchair user on the right track.

Therefore, we aspire for all these people to achieve their dreams and ambitions, and to share their achievements through other reports in other projects.

We want to thank every donor or supporter who helps us to achieve this success and we urge you to continue supporting us in our cause, our hope, our dream through subscribing to monthly donation which helps us secure enough funds to help more wheelchairs users and their families.
