New training is on its way!

Dear donors and friends,

We are happy to announce that a new training workshop has been adapted to respond to the needs of our beneficiaries and the current health conditions in Costa Rica, and will be executed between June and July 2021. As stated in our previous report, our technical team has been working on adapting our training workshops from face-to-face modalities to virtual and at-distance modes, to benefit young women with disabilities. To fulfill this commitment, we are going to start training young women with disabilities through adapted virtual courses on STEM-related content.

Now, we have ready a first training workshop on Digital Image Editing for young women with disabilities. These 4-hour long, online training workshops seek to benefit at least 60 young women (divided in three groups, each of 20 young women) between 18 and 35 years of age. In this case, the young women beneficiaries could come from across the country, so we expect to extend the scope of impact of the project.

We at the Fundacion Omar Dengo are very happy to continue working towards improving training opportunities for young women with disabilities, now through online training opportunities. This allow us to respond to the current COVID-19 pandemic conditions in Costa Rica that prevent us for executing face-to-face training. We are hopeful this situation will change for the better in the upcoming months, and we are eager to have young women back in our classrooms and laboratories.

We greatly appreciate all of your support, and please remember to share our project with family and friends!
