Project Report | Jul 10, 2025
Your Impact is Creating Real Change!

By Johanna Bermudez | Technical Coordinator

Thanks to the incredible support of GlobalGiving and your generous contributions, Fundación Omar Dengo is proud to continue our mission in 2025: empowering young women with disabilities in Costa Rica through technology and education.

What We're Achieving Together

Our Robotics for Young Women with Disabilities project is breaking down barriers and building bridges to opportunity. In 2025, we're creating pathways for young women with disabilities to thrive in technology and educational innovation—fields where they've been traditionally underrepresented.

Upcoming Milestones: Your Support in Action

Two transformative "Robotics for All" workshops are scheduled to launch this August, concluding in October 2025. These intensive programs will directly benefit 32 young women with disabilities, providing them with:

Technical Skills Development

  • Hands-on robot construction and programming
  • Theory-to-practice learning methodology
  • Real-world problem-solving applications

Essential Life Skills

  • Collaboration and effective communication
  • Creative thinking and innovation
  • Logical process structuring
  • Enhanced memory and concentration
  • Adaptability in technological environments

Current Progress: We're Just Getting Started

This July, we're launching our participant recruitment campaign in partnership with local schools, community organizations, and established support networks. This collaborative approach ensures we reach the young women who will benefit most from this opportunity.

The Bigger Picture: Why This Matters

Your support is doing more than teaching robotics—it's:

  • Breaking down societal barriers for young women with intellectual disabilities
  • Building confidence through hands-on achievement
  • Creating pathways to educational and social inclusion
  • Developing future leaders in technology and innovation

How You Can Amplify Your Impact

Every dollar you contribute directly transforms lives. Also, spread the word:

  • Share our project with your network
  • Follow our updates and celebrate our participants' achievements
  • Become an advocate for disability inclusion in technology

Together, we're not just teaching robotics—we're reshaping futures, challenging stereotypes, and proving that with the right support, every young woman can achieve extraordinary things.

Your continued support will help us expand this program and reach even more young women in 2025.
