Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) has supported 20 Sheep to the Sundarbans coastal people that is the villagers of Banishanta union of Dacope sub district of Khulna district. The supported villagers are nourishing those sheep with great care. Now the number has increased up to 46. New chicken has been born and the number of chicken increasing day by day.
The supported villagers expect that these sheep and chicken will bring them luck. Basically women are being involved in this work. Before involving this livestock work many of them use to go out for work, many of the supported villagers left their previous profession. But there are many more poor villagers live in the coastal region of Bangladesh, who are jobless due to Codid-19 epidemic and they needs the same support. BEDS is currently trying to raise fund from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people.
