Promoting Natural Farming Practices in Bangladesh

BEDS had given 20sheeps to improve their economic situation during Covid-19. Recently BEDS has supported 15 sheeps to the villagers. The coastal people have taken care of the livestock on daily basis.As the villagers are poor, they are rearing the sheep through grazing for ensuring good nutrition.This grazing system also helps environment forproducing new forage or grasses. Also, the poor villagers have provided supplementary feed properly. Now, the sheep gives birth new lamb which expanding the farm and carrying economic solvency to the rural people.

 The People who depend on the Sundarbans resource harvesting fall at huge risk as the Bangladesh government has issued strict laws on forest resource harvesting. Also, for unplanned resource harvesting; the natural resources have degraded at a high rate. The people have maintained their life under the breadline.

The Omicron variant of the coronavirus has now been detected in Bangladesh. So, people have passed their life through anxiety and fear. Moreover,people have no capability enough to start their daily income-generating activities. Livestock can be a great source for them to raise their income as well as for fulfilling their nutritional requirement also.

 BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
