Sheep farming brings out economic solvency

By Sanjida Yeasmin | Project Leader

Sheep farming brings out economic solvency
Sheep farming brings out economic solvency

BEDS had given 20 sheep to improve their economic situation during Covid-19. Recently BEDS has supported 15 sheep to the villagers. The coastal people have taken care of the livestock on daily basis. As the villagers are poor, they are rearing the sheep through grazing for ensuring good nutrition. The grazing system also helps environment for producing new forage or grasses. It is tough to provide supplementary feed properly.

In the period of rainy season, it is tough to ensure grazing for sheep on regular basis. At this time, the poor people face a lot of problems to ensure regular food. They have not enough money for purchasing the supplementary feed. So, the poor villagers are collecting green grass from the surrounding area. In the meantime, the members have sold ten sheep at eight thousand taka (8000 BDT). This money helps to bear the education cost of children as well as the food cost of family members. They hope to expand the farm at about 100 number of sheep.

BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.

We would like to thank all our donors for being so kind to us so far. We are requesting all our kind donors to start monthly recurring donation. For recurring donation, please visit the following link;
