We live very close to the world’s single largest mangrove forest, “Sundarbans”. We are the members of BANOJIBI. BANOJIBI means forest dwellers. We depend on the forest resources for our livelihood. But BEDS introduced several scopes of alternative livelihood opportunity. BEDS has introduced integrated farming system with us. In this system each and every sector of our house are being used to get benefit. Now we are rearing along with crop cultivation. IN livestock rearing, there is minimum loss of failure and we are getting quick benefit from the livestock. We have sheep, goat and now BEDS introduced beef rearing among us. It’s a very profitable business. We are getting quick return from the beef rearing.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
We would like to thank all our donors for being so kind to us so far. We are requesting all our kind donors to start monthly recurring donation. For recurring donation, please visit the following link; https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/livelihood-improvement-for-fishermen-families/
