People of Sundarbans coastal region depend on the forest resources for their livelihood. BEDS has introduced integrated farming in Sundarbans coastal region as income generating activities. Now the people of BANOJIBI are engaged in integrated farming and it includes organic farming, poultry farming, duck rearing, sheep and cow rearing. Sheep rearing has become very much popular at Uttar Banishanta village of Dacope. Now they are rearing sheep and for getting proper benefit, vaccination of the sheep is very important. BEDS has trained the local community on sheep rearing and also distributed sheep among the local community. Now they are providing vaccine to the sheep according to the learning from the training and they are getting much profit from the sheep rearing.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
