Vulnerable naturally and also economically, I am talking about Bangladesh, but it has to turn over time. For this target, Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is working on a small scale to turn over the shrimp farming coastal area into an Integrated Mangrove Aquaculture farming area and cultivate paddy and also vegetables in the dyke of fish farm. So, the same land is used in a multidimensional way: for fish production, vegetables, and also paddy production. The farm dyke is also producing salt-tolerant mangrove species and fruit trees, and mangrove leaves will produce natural food for fish, and fruit trees will fulfill the demand of family consumption.
BEDS is hopeful to scale up this model in all coastal areas, and the welfare work can be completed with the help of all donors and well-wishers.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from the GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
