Rural Health Equity Program: Expanding Access

Cocoa360 remains committed to ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible and affordable for underserved rural cocoa communities. Through our Rural Health Equity Program, we continue to reduce treatment costs and provide free care for those aged 60 and above, making essential medical services attainable for all.

Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating our 10th Anniversary—a milestone that reflects a decade of impact and community transformation. As part of this celebration, we organized a comprehensive health screening in collaboration with a partner, Awella Foundation, for the Tarkwa Breman community, providing free check-ups and vital health education. This initiative reinforced our mission of promoting preventive care and improving overall well-being in rural areas.

However, our Tarkwa Breman Community Clinic continues to face significant challenges, including limited space in the wards and treatment center, and the absence of dedicated specialized wards. These limitations hinder our ability to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.

The good news is that our clinic expansion project is well underway with $81,000 invested! This expansion will transform healthcare delivery in Tarkwa Breman.

Construction is progressing steadily. So far, we have laid the foundation and initiated structural improvements. Our next steps include completing the new medical units, equipping the facility, and enhancing community engagement to maximize impact.

Once complete, this expansion will not only increase capacity but also reduce referrals to distant hospitals and improve maternal and child health outcomes in our community.
