Safe Center for Vulnerable Children in Douala

AGAPE CENTER NEWS - Back to School & Updates 2026-2027

Dear AGAPE Family and Partners,

We are happy to share some great news from the Center!

1. BACK TO SCHOOL 2026-2027 - SUCCESSFUL TAKE-OFF! In line with the official school calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year, all AGAPE children have successfully returned to school and are now well settled in their respective classes. They are healthy, motivated, and ready to learn. Thank you for making this possible

2. EXCITING HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES WITH OUR EDHEC VOLUNTEERS This holiday season, we were blessed to host two very enterprising volunteers from EDHEC Business School, France, within the framework of the GIP Project (Global Impact Project). They provided invaluable pedagogic support in Mathematics, French, English, as well as sports and physical education. Beyond academics, they organized memorable leisure activities for the children, including birthday celebrations outside the Center, swimming pool outings, restaurant visits, and much more. The children were filled with joy!

3. COMING UP NEXT: SOLIDARITY SOCCER TOURNAMENT AND CHARITY GALA Following the success of last year's event, we are launching our 2nd Solidarity Soccer on the 5th December 2026 and a charity Gala on the 6th February 2026.

The Objectives are to: Raise funds for the daily running of the Center / Create relaxing and joyful moments between our partners children, and staff / Give visibility to our invaluable donors and partners.

4.AGAPE GARDEN! To boost the nutrition of the children, we tried our hands on some plantains and vegetables in our garden. We have successfully served some plantains and vegetables to the children as meals and look forward to more harvests in the days ahead.

5. HEARTFELT APPRECIATION! Our mission simply wouldn't be possible without the incredible partners and donors who champion our cause every single day! We want to share a massive thank you with everyone fueling this journey:

• BELIFE INSURANCE: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sponsoring a phenomenal 70% of the education costs for our AGAPE children. You are the driving force behind their smiles in the classroom today!
• AXA - TOUT COEUR & SOLENCA: We are so grateful for your powerful support and steadfast partnership in helping us grow and develop.
• GLOBAL GIVING & Our Amazing Donors: To our monthly champions and one-time supporters—your continuous generosity is what keeps our doors wide open and our community thriving!
• EDHEC & Rotterdam University Students: A huge shoutout to these fantastic student teams for their incredible energy, administrative support, and hard work right here on the ground!

We are still actively fundraising to fully secure the remaining school fees for the year so every child can keep learning. Together, we can make it happen—every single contribution counts!

Thank you for being such an inspiring part of the AGAPE family!

The AGAPE Center Team.
