Street child or future photographer?
We have been very busy lately due to the visit of our French Partners SOLENCA Association, who came all the way from France to spend the Easter holidays with the kids. The main aim for their visit was, helping the kids with their French lessons and Photo workshop. This involved training the kids on photos taking based on various theme such as “Fishing in Cameroon”, “Houses in Douala”, “Street Beauty Salon in Cameroon” just to name a few. These pictures will be posted on “Vues d’Afrique” Festival in France. The aim is to raise funds for the center if we emerge as one the lucky winners.
The kids were delighted and passionate by the photography technics. It was a delight to see that they were not in the street during this vacation time, but learning skills that could change their life. Please visit our Facebook page to get more information of SOLENCA’s visit.
AGAPE’s future and first Gala.
We have so for retained most of the children we started with. But we want to do more and make it sustainable. The AGAPE Center is becoming increasingly cramped, this why with SOLENCA’s collaboration we have decided to raise funds to purchase a plot of land in Yassa (a developing area of the city when can better supervise the kids), to eventually build a larger permanent centre for more vulnerable children.
The team and some engaged volunteers have been hard working on the organisation of this event and the sponsorship strategy associated to it. See the picture attached.
MAY BONUS DAY.
May 13th is Bonus Day; all donations will be matched on that day from 9.am Washington DC time!!!! Please donate and help us spread the word.
Participating to this bonus can move us from the Leader to Partner level, thus help benefit of more exposure, training and better chances to raise fund online and become a more sustainable organization. But above all this will enable to cover the running cost of the centre and care for our children. Please keep on checking our Facebook page for more information.
